- Divinity: Original Sin 2
This is an excellent RPG with turn-based battles and deep character development systems. In addition, the second game, which has become a worthy continuation of the original one, has a coop mode. Your team is going to consist of not only you but up to three other players, each of whom pursues their own goals and takes care of their characters. Of course, you can take AI characters into your group, but it will be quite different and less exciting than to get three other people to play with you. With real people involved, there will be only an element of cooperation but also an element of conflict; you will have to try to defend your point of view about various moral choices that will affect the plot of the game.
The Divinity series has gone through a lot. The authors experimented with genres, trying to make an arcade RPG, then an action game, then a strategy, but in the end, they’ve finally perfected the game and made it into one of the best RPGs of the last decade.
- Far Cry 5
The Far Cry franchise is positioned as a series of single-player shooters, but in the third installment, the creators experimented with the addition of a coop mode. In it, it was quite a lackluster experience. But in Far Cry 5, a full-fledged coop mode is available: any player from your list of friends can connect to your gaming session and play the game by your side. Together with a friend, you will find even more valuable loot, and this experience will be quite different from the single-player campaign.
- State of Decay 2
State of Decay 2 was criticized by lots of journalists and gamers, and it somewhat deserves to have its own place on the list of major disappointments of 2018, but its coop mode is quite different: it is actually pretty fun. In fact, the game is no different in its concept from the first part: you run around the map, perform all sorts of different missions, loot, try to survive, fight with the ghouls, and then repeat the process once again. The coop mode is better than the single player experience, and it will surely brighten up an evening. Among the innovations of the new game is a more detailed car management system; now they need to be refueled and repaired in case of malfunctions and damage.
- Sea of Thieves
It is one of the few coop adventure games of the last few years that achieved great success. There are both a multiplayer and a coop mode. Be ready to face the raging seas and pirates and don’t forget to take a bottle of rum with you. Together with your partner and friends, you can explore the vast expanses of the seas, collide with the teams of other players, trade, improve your brigantine, and personal equipment. The gameplay of Sea of Thieves is fascinating: the graphics are somewhat nontrivial, but it only makes it stand out from the other games in the genre.
- A Way Out
A Way Out is a coop action adventure which presents a difficult task to the players: get out of prison. The characters find themselves in a heavily protected area, and gamers have to think through each and every step they take in order to get out of it. Of course, this will be extremely difficult. A Way Out is a coop-only game, so if you don’t have a partner right now, then be sure to check out RU-BRides.com, the best dating service on the internet.
The game is quite challenging at times; you have to be able to improvise because the world of A Way Out lives by its own rules and always changes.
- Warhammer: Vermintide 2
After the successful release of the first part of Warhammer: Vermintide, the announcement of the sequel wasn’t all that surprising. In fact, it is largely the same, but there is even more team-based action, somewhat reminiscent of the famous Left 4 Dead 2 gameplay. It is dynamic and messy; it includes quite a few heroes with their own unique abilities, a huge set of melee and ranged weapons, as well as the unrivaled art style of Warhammer – all of these things collide in a beautiful brawl of fantastic gameplay, gore, and tons of pure fun.
- Destiny 2
The continuation of the acclaimed game called Destiny satisfied those players who did not like the original. The sequel to the old multiplayer coop shooter turned out great. We weren’t able to try it out all the way back in 2017, but in 2018, the project seems to have a large and loyal fan base. Together with your friends, you can challenge yourself with various missions, to receive rewards, achievements and, perhaps, to even get some sweet loot.
- Final Fantasy XV Windows Edition
Without true friends and comrades, any journey will get boring, so the main character of Final Fantasy XV goes to save the world with all of his closest friends. Although this wasn’t his original plan for the trip, we do what we must. The coop addon called Comrades allows players to travel together through the huge locations of the kingdom. You will have to fight with monsters, build a base, complete various quests, and develop your character. The group must find the coveted magic crystal that will save the world from darkness. You can get your copy of FF XV here.
- Monster Hunter World
Out of the blue, the Monster Hunter World project was released to the leading gaming platforms. This is an awesome game with a hurricane-paced action and an elaborate RPG system. The Japanese masters of gamedev have managed to combine excellent graphics, a diverse world, a huge amount of content, and high-quality gameplay into their game. In a company with friends, you will have to go through the wilderness, explore the jungles, and fight gigantic monsters. Under the onslaught of a well-coordinated team, even the Godzilla will fall.
- OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead
The list of the best coop games of 2018 will be incomplete without OVERKILL’s The Walking Dead. Overkill gave us Payday, one of the best coop games of the last decade. In the new game set in The Walking Dead universe, we won’t have to do any robbery; we will have to do our best to survive. You are going to visit different locations with your teammates and complete missions to find provisions and save people from zombies and bandits.
This list of the 10 best coop games of 2018 will surely bring lots of fun to both you and your partner.
